Engagement
“If you want students to learn you must first get their attention.”
—Judith Willis, M.D., M.Ed
Learners differ in the ways in which they can be engaged or motivated to learn. In reality, there is not one means of engagement that will be optimal for all learners in all contexts.
Affective networks in the brain monitor the internal and external environment to set priorities, motivate, and engage learning and behavior. Providing multiple means of engagement supports variable learners to connect with learning.
